  • easy installation normally 1 day
  • constant hot water supply
  • pressurised hot water to taps

  • no heating or hot water upon failure
  • supplys only one hot tap at a time

System boilers

These are designed to generate heat for your home as well as hot water that can be stored in a separate hot water storage cylinder. This can be situated anywhere in your home with no need for a separate tank in the loft.

Pros

  • removes loft tanks for central heating system
  • compact installation
  • high hot water flow rates if used with un vented cylinders (up to 50 ltrs per min)
  • un interrupted hot water, supplied by emersion should boiler fail

Cons

  • complicated cylinder and heating controls with wiring needed
  • space for a large cylinder some where
  • extra piping from cylinder to boiler control valves

Heat only boilers

Work in conjunction with a hot water storage cylinder and cold water top up tanks to provide both central heating and hot water.

Pros

  • easy replacement for existing under kitchen unit boiler minimal kitchen disturbance
  • less chance of old radiator circuits leaking due to water pressures
  • large supply of hot water
  • hot water supply even if boiler fails with emersion fitted

Cons

  • loft tanks still fitted
  • chance of freezing
  • vented system difficult to balance
  • low flow rates to showers
  • complicated valves and control gear  with separate programmers

Back Boiler

A back boiler is a small, compact boiler fitted at the back of an open fireplace hearth. It sits behind a gas or electric fire (or in the chimney breast) and provides hot water and central heating to the property.

Pros

  • no need to re-site the boiler and modify the pipework
  • kitchen cupboard space is not lossed
  • no major disruptions to property or redecoration
  • the only like-for-like direct back boiler replacement in the UK

Baxi have devloped a small high efficiency Bermuda back boiler unit that has a SEDBUK Band A rating which has been designed to work with the Valor Dimension™ electric fires.

When the boiler was first launched in 1996 Baxi estimated that around 80% of all boiler installations were the Bermuda. Today around 2.3 million homes across the UK still use the Baxi Bermuda.

The Baxi Bermuda BBU HE is a fully room sealed 15kw heat only boiler. It has a Class 5 NOx rating and is over 90% effcient. This will benefit householders with great savings on energy bills.
